The "top 6" is a loose and suspect term at the moment, considering Wolves, Sheffield United and Leicester are all competing with these so called `big boys` for European places. Due to downright respect and a fitting testament, Leicester will be exempt from the list. This leaves 13 other clubs, so, lets rephrase the question, who are the three most talented players outside the "top 7"?
Wilfred Zaha - Crystal Palace
Whenever articles like this pop-up Wilfred Zaha is a staple name, guaranteed to be any list that is in any way similar to that of this one. I think we are all surprised that the Ivorian has remained at Selhurst Park for such a lengthy period, with consistent strong links to giant European clubs, most notably German outfit Borussia Dortmund.
The 27-year-old winger has been tearing up the Premier League ever since he made the move back to Palace in 2015. With his explosive pace, tricky feet and captivating work on the ball, he is always that one player on the tongues of all Premier League fans come the arrival of the transfer window.
Raul Jimenez - Wolves
With Wolves rise, comes the rise of Raul Jimenez. Since the Mexicans transfer to the Premier League in 2018 he has been a sensation. He was originally purchased on loan but then Wolves exercised their obligation to buy one season later, securing his signature from historic Portuguese side Benfica for a sizeable and club record fee of £30m.
Scoring goals for fun, he has gone to a whole new other level in the Premier League this season, even finding the net against some of the biggest clubs in the land. His strength, composure and superb confidence in front goal makes him a very solid candidate to appear in this list. It just shows you how well the 29-year-old is performing, with reported links to Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Jack Grealish - Aston Villa
The last to appear in this list is Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish. It seems like this man has been around for quite some time, i personally thought his chance had been and gone. Now at 24-years-old he seems to have proved many wrong and well and truly found his home within the top division of English football.
The attacking midfielder has been fouled the most times in the league this season (127), legend has it that`s the only way to stop him. He also has more goal involvements than any other English midfielder this season (7 goals, 8 assists) pretty impressive for someone playing for a team sitting in a lowly 19th. The Birmingham born Villa fan breezes past players effortlessly and has a fantastic ability to pick seemingly difficult passes precisely, he is also no stranger to a firecracker from outside the area. Its no surprise rumours are surfacing for a big move for Grealish in the summer.
Honorable mentions:
Danny Ings - Southampton
Ruben Neves - Wolves
Martin Dubravka - Newcastle
Adama Traore - Wolves
Luca Digne - Everton
